Emerging Experts Spotlight
Category: Clinical Case Presentation Only
Eligibility: Postgraduate students in any year of their MDS program (Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery, or related fields)
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1.Only clinical case presentations are allowed. Review, research, or literature-based presentations are not permitted.
2.The case presented must be personally handled by the presenter and supervised by their department.
3.Each presenter will be allotted 8 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A.
4.Presentations must be made using PowerPoint (.pptx) format. PDF and video-only formats are not allowed.
5.Case should be presented in a structured format.
6.Include clear clinical photographs, radiographs, and (if possible)short intra-op clips.
7.Avoid patient-identifiable information (use black bars or crop as needed).
8.Ensure all images and data are authentic; manipulated data will lead to disqualification.
9.Only one entry per student is allowed.
10.Co-authorship is allowed, but only the primary presenter will be allowed on stage.
11.All presenters must be registered delegates of SIMSYM 2025.
12. 5 presenters will be selected based on merit
NOTE:
1.All interested participants must submit their complete PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) of the case for initial review.
2.The presentation must strictly follow the format below:
*Title Slide (Name, Institution, Department, Case Title)
*Patient History & Chief Complaint
Clinical Examination & Diagnostic Findings
Treatment Plan with Justification
Step-by-step Surgical and/or Prosthetic Procedure (with images/radiographs)
Post-operative Results and Follow-up
Discussion and Key Clinical Takeaways
3.Presentations must not exceed 8-10 slides, excluding title and acknowledgement.
4.The presentation must be original work by the presenter, and all images used should be authentic and ethically obtained.
5.Cases that are incomplete, plagiarized, or lack clarity will be disqualified.
6.A screening committee will evaluate all entries and shortlist the 6 top presenters, who will then be invited to present at the SIMSYM Emerging Expert Spotlight session.
