Importance of Complete Denture before Full Mouth Implant Planning:
1. Esthetics and Function
Dentures help evaluate smile line, lip support, speech, and chewing — crucial for planning implant restorations.
2. Vertical Dimension
They help establish proper vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO), essential for implant-supported prostheses.
3. Implant Positioning
Dentures can be converted into radiographic or surgical guides, ensuring implants are placed prosthetically, not just anatomically.
4. Interim Prosthesis
They provide esthetics and function during implant healing or transitional phases.
5. Diagnostic Tool
Dentures allow trial evaluation, helping in decision-making and customization of the final prosthesis.
